So I just got back from seeing the movie Moms Night Out with my very good Mommy friend and all I have to say is wow! That movie is amazing for moms that sometimes feel alone in the world or not as awesome as all of the other moms. The basis of the movie is some stay at home moms that do nothing but support their kids and husbands and need a night out so they go and everything that can go wrong does. It's hilarious and affirming to a young stay at home mom and older one alike. We push ourselves, and rarely take time for ourselves. We take care of everyone and everything and think we are letting someone down when we don't get it all right. Our houses are covered in laundry, toys piled everywhere and dishes stacked to heaven, and we feel guilty for not having it all together. We think that maybe if we were like "Susie's " mom then my house would be spotless and we would bake homemade cookies every week. What we forget is that Susie's mom has a maid and only one kid. We don't have a maid, and cannot afford one, and we make cookies from the roll...but hey at least we sometimes make them. We are the average, everyday mommy that constantly feels like we aren't enough for anyone around us when the only person we have to be enough for is ourselves. Our kids drive us crazy and we don't always parent the way we should, but that's okay. This movie gave me a renewed spirit in my mommy hood. It reminded me that God made me the way he wants me and I am a perfect being in his eyes. I am the perfect mother to my kids, as my mom was for me. My laundry, dishes, and toy covered house that desperately needs to be vacuumed is perfect. My kids love me more than any other woman on the planet, and I am ENOUGH! I am doing the job that God created me to do. I am a MOM!
Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms.
