We're Still Here

Just in case anyone was worrying about us, we are still here. We have just had a lot happening in the past few months as has everyone I'm sure. Today has been one of those days where I would like to run down the street screaming so I decided to reflect on life instead...through blogging!!!

Thanksgiving:
We spent Thanksgiving day at my parents and left around 1 p.m. to go to the last A&M vs. t.u. game while Jenson stayed with Gi-Gi and Bampa Davis. We met Jake's family up there and hung out for a little while before going to the game to yell our booties off. It was a bummer that we didn't win but all fun just the same. We look forward to what next year brings for the Aggie's, and will cheer them on win or loose! We also celebrated Thanksgiving that weekend in La Grange with Jake's family. Gammie prepared a lovely meal, as usual, and everyone ate until they couldn't eat anymore. I was harboring a secret at this time (baby #2) and was having a difficult time eating, but it was delicious!

Christmas:
December was filled with great and not so great things. We got to celebrate Jesus' birth and spend precious time together. We reflected on our dear sweet cousin Ashley Henley who we lost to cancer the year before. (Love you Ash) We made gingerbread (graham cracker) houses, played outside, decorated the house, and made the BIG announcement that Baby #2 was on the way and Due July 10th!!!
Christmas was fun despite an unexpected trip to the minor ER clinic for Jenson due to a terrible stomach bug that caused non-stop vomiting. After some medicine and fluid his little lifeless body was smiling again. This is the scariest feeling you can ever have as a parent, not being able to fix your baby. Jake and I were terrified, but we had each other and thankfully my Mom was close for advice. Unfortunately the bug was strong and about 2 days later it hit the rest of the house. Jake and I were both sick at the same time, which doesn't work out well when you have a baby to take of and you are growing one! I ended up having to spend the night in the hospital for fluids and Uncle Corn came over, at the risk of getting sick, and took care of Jenson and Jake. Don't know what we would do without him!
After the Christmas Plague of 2011 was over, which took about a week, we finally got to go to La Grange for Christmas. Jenson had a wonderful time up there, mainly because he gets to see the cows on the Gator, and pretty much do whatever he wants!!!

Other Things Going On:

1. I have been diagnosed with Hyperthyroid Disease, which is making me feel generally yucky all around, all day long. We are waiting to hear back on some lab work before starting treatment so I will keep everyone posted on what happens with that. Prayers are appreciated!

2. Jenson learned how to climb out of his crib and refused to sleep in a bed, so he now has a crib tent (pretty much a kid kennel). It sounds torturous but he actually loves it. He will even start saying, "tent, tent," when he wants to go to bed.

3. Jake is preparing for more travel for work in the near future. First he will be in India, and then Brazil. Please pray for his safe journeys and homecoming, as well as my patience while my help is gone.

4. Jenson Stats:
Size: 3T, Weight: 33 lbs. (He has thinned out a bit), Speed: Fast, Height: Too Big
Vocabulary: Too many words to count. He is talking so much that it sometimes freaks us out. How does a 20 month old put sentences together??? He is Crazy smart!

Most Recent Likes: Wonder Pets, Going "Bye-Bye," Church nursery time, being outside, dogs, any type of vehicle, doing what he has in mind, bath time, being naked, fruit snacks which he calls "candy," marshmallows ("mallows"), kool-aide, milk from a bottle- don't even dare trying to give him milk in a sippy cup, cows, the moon (A LOT), sitting in Daddy's race car, his bear, reading, coloring.

Dislikes: Doing anything you want him to do, getting diaper changes, getting dressed, whining, throwing fits, being still, when Mommy is out of his sight.

5. Race season is upon us again. We are going to try and make as many as we can before the baby comes so Jake can maintain his Championship from last year!!! But, we will see how that goes.

Here are some pictures to catch you up. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and is having a better new year!

Ok, So this blogger picture upload is being super slow. For now you'll have to deal with only seeing the newly pregnant me and pics from the day we got our swing set! I'll upload more later.
